All of our clinical staff are Certified Practicing Speech Pathologists and are members of our professional association, Speech Pathology Australia. They hold current Police Checks, Working With Children Checks, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Checks.
Emma Tyrrell - Business Owner and Speech Pathologist Emma achieved her Speech Pathology degree in 1996. She has been working as a speech pathologist within Bendigo since 1997. For 11 years, Emma practiced as a speech pathologist at Bendigo Health, where she held the Deputy Chief position for a number of years and developed a wide network of colleagues and a thorough understanding of services in the area. Since 2008, Emma has worked in private practice.
Emma manages a clinical caseload and provides support to her team of speech pathologists and administration staff. Emma also works with her colleague, Tamara, in our ADOS Clinic and is passionate about neuro-affirming practice and the concept of 'difference', not 'disorder'. Emma is a skilled, kind and compassionate clinician and manager, who works hard to ensure her employees are happy and cared for. Emma went into private practice to experience flexibility whilst working and raising a family, and she provides this flexibility to her team.
Rochelle Cassar - Speech Pathologist Rochelle is an asset to the team with her passion for excellence and her commitment to ongoing improvement for her clients. With three children of her own, Rochelle completely understand the lives of busy families. Rochelle is extremely kind and caring and very thorough in everything she does. Rochelle also works in residential aged care settings across Bendigo to improve swallowing safety and quality of life for residents with eating and communication difficulties.
Bec Swayn - Speech Pathologist Bec is an engaging and enthusiastic and motivated clinician who enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals. She prioritises creating a safe, welcoming environment and has skills in flexibility and encouragement. Bec has knowledge about trauma-enforced and neuro-affirming practice. She has five years experience as a secondary school teacher, which has provided her with extensive interactions with children. Bec loves being creative and artistic.
Tamara Ludeman - Speech Pathologist Tamara seeks to develop strong rapport with her clients. She quickly builds trust and connects with people, always considering what they would like to achieve. Tamara creates a relaxed environment that results in her clients feeling comfortable being themselves. She is extremely flexible and can adapt quickly to meet the needs of her clients. Tam has particularly strong skills in IT, excel spreadsheets and organisation, making her extremely valuable in the clinic. She is always considering the needs of others. Tam loves playing boardgames and also works in our ADOS Clinic with Emma.
Kirstyn Smith - Office Manager Kirstyn possesses strengths in organisation and diligence. She is an efficient team member who manages our accounts, waiting list and the administration of the business. Kirstyn is the friendly person who answers your phone calls and emails. She is always looking for ways to make the business run more efficiently. Kirstyn is a vibrant person to be around; she has a fabulous sense of humour and can light up the room that she is in. As a mum herself, Kirstyn understands the pressures that families experience and she works hard to achieve a work-life balance.
