Important Information

Here are the important things you should know about Talk It Up and how we can assist you

We are neurodiversity-affirming
We take a neuro-affirming strength based approach with our clients. This means that we provide interest-based learning and we embrace the uniqueness and strengths of neurodivergent children. We work with families to achieve the goals that are important to them. We strongly believe that neurodivergent brains are different, not disordered. We recognise that neurodivergence is not a flaw or disorder that needs to be fixed or corrected. All individuals have the ability to learn, to communicate, and to participate in their own way and we are here to support them through this process.

All staff in the clinic have undergone extensive professional development in this area.

Professional development
We routinely undertake professional development, both individually and as a clinical group, to ensure we can provide quality and evidence-based services to our clients. You get results when you work with us. Goals are reviewed and progress is routinely measured to demonstrate  this.

Experience and local knowledge
Emma has worked in Bendigo for many years and has extensive knowledge about what services are available in the region and how they may assist you.

Emma and her team have demonstrated the ability to quickly develop relationships with children,  therefore it doesn’t take long before they feel comfortable and then results are  achieved fast.

You will experience a highly organised business in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Parents are experts
Talk It Up believes parents play the most important role in the development of a child’s communication skills. So we work with parents so they become confident to help improve their child’s skills on a day-to-day basis.

We routinely seek your feedback to ensure continual improvement of our service.

We love what we do and this is very obvious when you work with us.

Acknowledgement of Country

We respectfully acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we meet, work, and learn in Bendigo. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all First Nations Peoples.

We recognise that Country is not just a place, but a living cultural and storytelling landscape—nurtured over millennia through spoken word, song, and story. As a speech pathology practice committed to supporting communication and storytelling for all, we are mindful and grateful to honour the oldest storytellers of this land, and to continue learning from their enduring connection to place, language, and expression.
