Many people in the community have difficulty listening, understanding or speaking.  Speech Pathologists also work with people who have difficulty eating and/or drinking. Talk It Up's current caseload includes:

- Delayed and disordered speech development
- Delayed and disordered language development
- Early pre-reading  and pre-spelling skills (phonological awareness)
- Stuttering
- Voice disorders
- Swallowing disorders
- Education and training sessions
- Communication and swallowing following neurological events (i.e. stroke, head injury)

Assessment
The assessment process involves:
- Gathering background information (e.g. developmental & medical histories, hearing status). A background information form is sent prior to the assessment to save time in the initial session.
- Assessing communication/swallowing skills using standardised tools and/or non-standardised  clinical observations.
- Assessment usually takes one to two hours/visits.

Reports are written on request and charged at a set rate.

NDIS Update
We are a registered NDIS Provider for participants aged over 7 years. We are able to service participants aged under 7 years if they are self managed or plan managed.
For people who would like to access the NDIS, contact 1800 800 110.

Therapy
How much therapy and how often it is needed varies with every person. The options available are discussed with you and you can decide the therapy goals (what you want to achieve) and the frequency of sessions. Half hour, 45 minute and hourly sessions are available, depending on what you need and how often you need to attend.
